Wplace.live

A collaborative pixel art canvas where thousands of users create artwork together. Each user places colored pixels with cooldown timers, making precision and coordination essential.

Think of it as a massive digital canvas where everyone contributes to building images, logos, and art pieces in real-time.

Blue Marble

A third-party browser userscript that overlays template images directly onto the Wplace canvas with positioning controls and coordinate displays.

Think of it as digital tracing paper with a grid reference: the image guides manual placement but does not place pixels for you.

Review the source and release notes before installing it, download only from the linked project repository, and check the current Wplace rules yourself. This guide does not guarantee compatibility or approval by Wplace.live.

Template Setup Steps

    Find the top-left corner coordinates

    Fill in Tl X, Tl Y, Px X, and Px Y with the precise coordinates. Use the "Pin" icon to auto-fill after clicking the target pixel.

    Upload your template image

    Supports PNG or WEBP formats with transparency support.

    Click the "Create" button

    Blue Marble will process and display your template overlay.

    Enable the overlay if needed

    If your template doesn't appear, try clicking the "Enable" button.

Template Requirements

Transparent Pixels

  • For "any color" pixels: Use transparent in your template
  • For "Transparent" color pixels: Use #deface hex color

Coordinate System

Wplace uses a unique tile-based coordinate system. Each pixel has both tile coordinates and pixel coordinates within that tile.

Tip: Click any pixel on the canvas to see both coordinate systems displayed by Blue Marble.

Image Sizing

Blue Marble displays templates at actual size. A 500×300 pixel image will appear as 500×300 pixels on the canvas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Practical answers to installation and overlay questions

How can I check the userscript before installing it?

Open the linked GitHub repository, compare the release file with the source in the src/ folder, review the permissions requested by the userscript, and check recent release notes and issues. Install only if you understand and accept those permissions. Wplace Toolkit does not publish or independently audit the Blue Marble releases.

Why are some pixels not showing on the overlay?

This usually happens if the template image is not converted to the Wplace color palette. You should convert your template using a color converter for Wplace or manually adjust the template image to match the Wplace color palette. Also check that no pixels are disabled in the filter settings of the Blue Marble menu.

How can Blue Marble place pixels for me?

It can't. Unfortunately Blue Marble will not support the automatic placement of pixels without user interaction because it is not allowed by Wplace. Blue Marble is a visual assistance tool only.

How do I hide the overlay?

You can temporarily hide the overlay by clicking the "Disable" button in the Blue Marble menu. If you want to completely remove both the overlay and the Blue Marble menu, turn off the userscript in Tampermonkey and refresh the page.

How do I tell colors apart?

Find the color in the color filter list and click the checkbox to turn the color on or off. If you want to work on only one color at a time (recommended), click "Disable All" in the color filter, then enable the checkbox next to the color you want to place. This way only one color on your template will appear at a time.

How do I get the color of a pixel?

Use the eyedropper in the palette menu of wplace. If your template colors match the wplace palette, you can select the template pixel dot to get the template's color for that pixel.

Why do game notifications appear on top of the overlay?

Game notifications only appear when they need immediate attention. Therefore they have priority over the overlay (which typically needs no attention).

Can I use this on mobile devices?

Mobile support depends on the browser, userscript manager, operating system, and current Blue Marble release. Check the project release notes first; if your browser cannot run userscripts, use the desktop workflow instead.

What image formats are supported?

Blue Marble supports PNG and WEBP formats with transparency. These formats provide the best quality and flexibility for template overlays while maintaining small file sizes.
